Top 19 Best Movies to Stream for Free on Amazon Prime

There is nothing else for you to do. Time to watch a movie on Netflix. However, you would prefer to choose your movie before you turn on the television so that you don’t have to scroll through Amazon (or another streaming service) forever. Well, we’re able to assist. The top films that Amazon Prime subscribers can watch have been compiled by us. We’ve gathered a wide variety of movies, including drama, comedy, romantic comedy, and documentaries.

Jack Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger co-star in one of the greatest movies of the 2000s. Ang Lee’s film, which tells the poignant and heartbreaking story of two men in the American West who fall in love but are rejected, is an adaptation of Annie Proulx’s short story. It includes some of Ledger, Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway, and Michelle Williams’ best work to date.

One of the most adored characters of the franchise, Captain America, made his feature film debut as a standalone in the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joe Johnston’s film has a vintage adventure movie vibe that works well with the subject matter, and with this huge hit, Evans imbued Cap with his own style and never looked back.

It is undeniable that Stephen King has never enjoyed greater popularity than in the wake of the successful film adaptations of his works, such as It, Doctor Sleep, and the recent Pet Sematary remake. For many years, Hollywood has been adapting the horror master’s works. Consider this 1984 rendition of a short story written by Stephen King more than forty years prior. Although it’s not a particularly good film, it’s starting to become a cultural icon because audiences associate this movie’s diminutive monsters with every scary child in a film.

The fact that Amazon is releasing its movies on Amazon Prime almost immediately after they play at the multiplex or arthouse is one of the great things about their increased theatrical output. Consider the Polish drama Ida (2018), which is nominated for an Oscar and tells the story of star-crossed lovers over several decades after the end of World War II. It’s a rich, poignant drama that both begs and rewards your attention.

Maximus Decimus Meridius, a well-liked and esteemed general in the Roman army played by Russell Crowe, loses his title and is made a slave. Joaquin Phoenix plays Commodus, a troubled and corrupt Emperor who usurps power through devious means and tries to win over the populace by promoting the return of the legendary gladiator fights. This film, which tells the story of vengeance, glory, and honor and separates the living men from the dead, is amazing. The performances are outstanding.

The Avengers was a movie that no one had ever seen before when it originally came out. Fans were captivated by the film even before it opened in theaters since it was the conclusion of several Marvel storylines involving Iron Man, The Hulk, Captain America, and Thor. In this epic comic book movie, the mightiest heroes on Earth team up to battle an alien force.

Renowned crime writer Christopher Plummer is discovered dead, and Daniel Craig’s character, renowned investigator Benoit Blanc, is enigmaticly brought in to look into the murder. The road to discovering the truth is a convoluted one, involving the dysfunctional family of the novelist and the personnel who cared for him.

The South Korean zombie thriller “Train to Busan” is one of the better ones to come out in recent years. The fear is evident and the makeup effects are realistic. See how the divorced father Seok-Woo fights to keep his daughter and the other passengers safe as they ride a train to Busan, which is meant to be a safe haven from a horde of zombies.

Tom Cruise builds upon the Mission Impossible franchise with an epic action-packed movie where agent Ethan Hunt and the IMF agency become enemies to the U.S. government.

Shia LeBeouf stars in this softhearted comedy in which his character, Tyler, goes on an adventure with a runaway man with Down syndrome who dreams of being a pro wrestler. You’ll be laughing and holding back tears — often all at once, Usatoday added.

Although it was not well received upon its 2001 release, history now acknowledges that Steven Spielberg’s film, which he completed after Stanley Kubrick had abandoned the project, is a masterwork. David, played by Haley Joel Osment, is an android child who discovers the meaning of life and the nature of people. If you haven’t seen it since it was released, you really should. It’s a stunning, ambitious work of art.

One of the most adored characters of the franchise, Captain America, made his feature film debut as a standalone in the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Joe Johnston’s film has a vintage adventure movie vibe that works well with the subject matter, and with this huge hit, Evans imbued Cap with his own style.

The science fiction masterpiece from Steven Spielberg from 1982 has withstood the test of time, speaking as powerfully to a new generation as it did to their parents and grandparents. Elliott, portrayed by Henry Thomas, is a young boy who befriends an extraterrestrial he calls E.T. and who merely wants to return home. It’s a stunning, touching work of art.

While not as extensive as other streaming services, Amazon Prime offers a greater selection of foreign films than the majority. Consider Park Chan-wook’s brilliant historical drama, which revolves around a betrayal, a sex, and more betrayal. It’s among the most artistically stunning movies you could see this evening. But first, make sure the kids are asleep.

The 2007 mystery was director David Fincher’s attempt at breaking new ground after his success with the serial-killer thriller “Seven.” Fincher avoided the big payoff of most true crime stories by focusing on the kind of obsessiveness required to follow that trail year after year without a satisfying resolution because the real-life Zodiac killer was never caught or tried for his crime.

Christian Slater kinda does a Jack Nicholson impression and Winona Ryder is at the peak of her ’80s emo charm in this clever satire of high-school life. Ryder plays the high-school outcast and Slater plays the guy who teaches her that revenge is a dish best served with an attitude.

In Lynne Ramsay’s technically brilliant dissection of a hitman’s life, Joaquin Phoenix plays the lead role. Phoenix’s natural, almost primal performance counterbalances Ramsay’s incredible editing and sound design prowess. His life falls apart when he is asked to protect a well-known politician’s daughter from being trafficked in sex. What life he had left, that is. The filmmaking is captivating, and Phoenix gives one of her best performances to date in 2018.

This touching story about two estranged brothers who become fighters in a mixed martial arts ring was co-written and directed by Gavin O’Connor. Carnivorous and authentic, it showcases some of Tom Hardy, Joel Edgerton, and Oscar nominee Nick Nolte’s best roles to date. One of the best movies of 2011, it challenges you not to cry at the end with its deconstruction of macho male stereotypes.

The 2006 mystery, one of Christopher Nolan’s most well-known works, features Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman as competing stage magicians in late 19th-century London. They will stop at nothing to beat each other in the ultimate stage illusion, even if it means going to previously unthinkable lengths. It’s a stunning historical drama with a fantastic twist conclusion.
