How To Watch Rugby World Cup for Free in Every Country: TV Channels, Streaming Sites
The Rugby World Cup will be held in France in 2023, but you don’t have to live in the country to watch. We’ll show you where you can watch free Rugby World Cup live streams from anywhere. You can watch as 20 of the world’s best teams smash each other around the pitch in the run-up to the final on October 28.
The Rugby World Cup is an annual men’s rugby union tournament between the best international teams. France will host the event in 2023, with 20 nations competing over a six-week period. Nations are divided into four pools, with the winners and losers from each pool advancing to the knockout stage. The knockout stage includes quarter- and semi-finals, followed by the final.
South Africa is the defending champion, having defeated England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup Final.
The 2023 Rugby World Cup will be the tenth edition of the men’s Rugby World Cup. It will be held in France from September 8 to October 28. The tournament, which will be held in nine different locations across France, will be the first of its kind.
In the United Kingdom, you can watch all of the Rugby World Cup action via the free ITVX live stream, which broadcasts every match. The majority of games will be shown on ITV1, with the remainder shown on ITV3 and 4. While ITVX is based in the United Kingdom, you can use a VPN to access it from anywhere.
A VPN virtually changes the location of your devices, making apps and websites believe you’re connecting from servers in those countries. In the case of the Rugby World Cup, you can connect via a UK server, and ITV will let you in without a hitch after you create a free email login. You can also use VPNs to sign up for low-cost streaming services like Peacock (which broadcasts the entire Rugby World Cup).
ITV once more has the exclusive right to broadcast the Rugby World Cup to UK viewers.
Every World Cup game is available to stream for FREE on ITVX via your computer or mobile device in addition to airing on ITV’s TV channels (Japan vs. Argentina is shown on ITV1, Tonga vs. Romania is shown on ITV3, and Fiji vs. Portugal is shown on ITV4). Just search for the app on any device, phone, or console you have because ITVX has a fantastic app that works on nearly all your smart devices.
Follow the steps below to check out ExpressVPN, which offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, if you’re outside of the UK but still want your regular coverage. To watch ITVX while traveling, you’ll also need a VPN and an active TV license.
If you don’t already have one, get one.
Install it on the device that will be used to watch the game.
Turn it on and set it to the United Kingdom.
Sign in or create a free account to watch the matches.
When: From September 8 to October 28.
Watch the Rugby World Cup live in the UK for FREE!
ITV has once again been granted exclusive rights to broadcast the Rugby World Cup to UK audiences.
Because the Rugby World Cup is being held in Paris this year, French viewers will have an abundance of free, local live stream options. TF1 is the primary provider of Rugby World Cup games in France, but the network has also agreed to share approximately half of its games with France TV and M6 through 6Play.
You may have to sift through the TV guides for those respective channels to find the exact matches you want to watch, but you should be able to watch all scheduled matches for free, with no sign-up required.
TF1 has the broadcast rights in France, but they have also agreed a sub-licensing deal with commercial broadcaster M6 and public-service broadcaster France TV for 28 of the 48 matches.
The World Cup will be broadcast in Italy by Rai and Sky Italia.
SuperSport is the place to be if you want to watch the Rugby World Cup from South Africa.
There are several SuperSport packages available, depending on whether you want to watch on DStv or stream.
A last-minute agreement has now ensured that all Springboks matches (including knockout matches) will be broadcast live on SABC. Throughout the tournament, the network will broadcast 19 matches, with select games available on SABCSport.com’s live streaming channel. However, restrictions within the deal mean that millions of viewers on the OVHD platform will not be able to view the matches broadcast by SABC.
The 48 Rugby World Cup matches will be available to watch FOR FREE in Ireland, with coverage shared between RTÉ (and its RTÉ Player) and Virgin Media Television (and its Virgin Media Player).
For those living in the United States, the Rugby World Cup is broadcast on NBC Sports. They will stream all 48 matches on their Peacock Premium streaming service, which costs $5.99 per month. There will also be 15 matches on CNBC, as well as replay coverage of four games (Ireland v Scotland on 7 October, two quarter finals, and the final) on NBC.
CNBC is available on Sling as part of the Sling Blue package, along with the News Extra add-on. The monthly fee is $41, but the first seven days are free, and you can cancel at any time.
Australian rugby fans will tune in to Stan Sport, which will broadcast all 48 Rugby World Cup matches ad-free, live and on demand.
Channel 9 and the 9Now streaming service will also provide free live coverage of all Wallabies games and the World Cup final.
Stan Sport costs $15 per month when added to your regular Stan plan, and there is a seven-day free trial available so you can try it out first.
Sky Sport NZ, a subscription service in New Zealand, has once again secured the rights to broadcast the Rugby World Cup.
Sky NZ has also agreed to show 12 free-to-air matches on Sky Open, six of which will be live and six of which will be delayed. Sky Open’s live schedule already includes the All Blacks’ opening night loss to France, as well as two quarter finals, one semi-final, the bronze final, and the final. The All Blacks’ remaining three pool matches, two quarter-finals, and one semi-final, will all be available for delayed viewing.
In Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Timor-Leste, the Philippines, Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, beIN Sports is the place to watch a Rugby World Cup live stream. The tournament’s 48 matches will be available on the beIN Sports Connect app as well as the dedicated pop-up channel beIN Sports Rugby.
Rugby World Cup matches are not included in your standard BeIN Sports subscription in some countries (including Hong Kong, Singapore, and the Philippines). To watch the tournament, you must purchase an additional RWC Pass, which grants you access to all matches. (Prices differ by country.)
Fortunately, World Rugby has its own streaming platform, RugbyPass TV. Every game of the Rugby World Cup 2023 will be live-streamed for free. Unfortunately, because Multichoice owns the broadcasting rights in South Africa, the live streams are unlikely to be available to South Africans.
According to the rugby body, there will also be more than 10,000 hours of archive content from every available men’s and women’s Rugby World Cup match recorded on camera. Full-match replays, highlights, tries, and “magical moments” are available to fans. Canan Moodie’s once-in-a-generation talent, as much as Lukhanyo Am’s selfless pass to Makazole Mapimpi in the 2019 final, will be hoped for by Springboks fans. As a result, the talented winger became the first Springbok to score a try.
